Mystery House

Reclamation Project

It’s the New Year.  Happy New Year! I suppose I should be knitting something out of brand new yarn.  Instead, here I am picking apart an old, partially-knit sweater so that I can use the yarn for something else.

It’s actually kind of exciting.  I love making new, happy things out of old, not-working things.  Yes, I’m a geek.  But I’m a geek with some very pretty old/new yarn.

What are you knitting?

Very pretty yarn, good thing not to let it go to waste. But Bernat? Do they even make that any more? (I have some Brunswick sport weight in my stash — similar age, I think.)

I had to skip right over the beans and go straight to the yummy yarn.

Hey, I have no new yarn so it’s either stash or recycle for me, too. Which is fine. I’ve had so much fun shopping my stash lately.

There’s no point in keeping a partially done knit around. I hope you can make it into something you LOVE.

That is pretty yarn! I have some bernat and some brunswick in my stash… cheap to me from a yard / yarn sale. Not counting two wips that have just lingered for far two long, I’ve started a sweater for DH last night. Got an inch done up the back.

I call it thrifty, not geeky! Ha ha!

I’m knitting everything small, fast, fat and new. If it’s bulky gage, I’m knitting it. Everything to avoid finishing things I already started.

I have started a sweater for dh – have 1 sleeve and about 1/4? of the body finished – he is 6’8″ so this is going to take a while 🙂 I am also working on some small projects – mostly mittens and gloves.

  8. It’s just good karma. Make it into what it WANTs to be. I did some re-purposing also.
