Happy Birthday, Dr. King!

Every year on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, I take a little time to read, or reread, one of the good Reverend’s speeches.  It’s unfortunate that in the media his vision has been condensed to the justifiably famous “I Have a Dream” address, when in fact he had important things to say on many subjects.

I always find myself struck by how timely Dr. King’s words still are.  Have a look here, and scroll down to “Beyond Vietnam,” a speech he gave in 1967.  It’s lengthy, but worth the time.  He could easily be speaking much the same words today.
