Mystery House

Elves

I keep wishing that elves will appear to take care of the holiday kitchen cleanup.  So far, they haven’t done a darn thing except stand around and look cute, but these guys are here and they did make charming companions on Christmas Eve.

I finished just enough of them the other day to use as table decorations, and each of our guests took one home.

I should have photographed the table before we tore it apart.  In keeping with the cork elf theme, I used cork placemats, red napkins and red school lunch trays.  Real ones!  Christmas Eve dinner was all nibbles, served on funky red dishes:  wonderful cheeses, sausages and crackers.  Lunch trays were the perfect thing, and everybody had fun, including the elves.

You can find the pattern here.

Merry Christmas!

See, addictive!!! Yours are adorable. We’ve taken to drinking wine as “cork harvesting” around here!
We also did little nibbles for Christmas Eve. It made for a lovely casual evening, where the focus was spending time together.
